I liked this book as much as I like puppies, and I really love puppies! When I read Eli went out on his own and he couldn’t read or write, I felt kind of sad and scared. Then
I read about Earl, and I laughed because he was really funny!
Athena, age 7
I liked the book a lot, especially the pictures. I want to know what happens to Eli on his journey. I hope you write more soon so I can enjoy reading more about his story.
Brian, age 7
It’s a very entertaining story. If I were Eli, I would have saved my money.
Sienna, age 9
I like the story and the characters. Earl is very funny, especially when he eats Eli's food. After all, he is a pig! When can I read the next book?
Jake, age 9
I like the Enchanted Collar books because they all have a mystery at the end and have me wondering what will happen next. I’ve learned to look before you buy or spend your
money. I’ve also learned that when you get older you should have medical insurance in case you get hurt.
Samantha, age 10
I love these books because they have lots of adventures. I’ve learned what it feels to pay debt. Now I feel grateful for having good parents that pay for my food, tuition, and clothes.
Brian, age 10
I like these books because they are interesting and they are a mystery. The thing I’ve learned is that you can’t lie and that you have to be honest and trustworthy. I’ve also
learned to look at the price before you buy anything.
Jasmin, age 10
I like the Enchanted Collar series because it’s about Eli and his friends going on a journey and it’s never-ending suspense. I’ve learned a lot about debt, how to handle money, and the necessary skills to get a job.
Daniel, age 10
I like these books because they are very interesting to read. They get you excited to read the next book each time. I have learned how to spend and save my money. I’ve also
learned that when you owe debt, the amount starts to go higher when you don’t pay it back on time.
Jennifer, age 10
I like these books. They are full of actions! I’ve learned that you shouldn’t buy a lot of supplies if you don’t have enough money to pay for it.
Steven, age 10
I like these books because they are really fantastic! I really like the drawings, too. All the Enchanted Collar books are amazing in their own way. There are suspense,
mystery, action, lessons, and everything!
Michele, age 10
I like reading these books because they always leave you wondering what is going to happy next. One of the lessons I've learned is that you have to keep track of expenses in
order to correctly balance a checkbook.
Cristina, age 10
This was a really good book. I liked the words you used in the story. The words actually formed pictures in my head! I learned not to spend all of my money on one thing and
to make my money last a year or so. This story taught me a very good lesson.
Nathan, age 11
I love the Enchanted Collar book series! I had a lot of fun reading them. I also learned some good lessons, like what to do when I had a problem.
Ashley, age 11
I loved your story because it was cute. I could actually imagine what Eli, Earl, William, and all of the other characters looked like in my mind. I liked the fact that Eli never
breaks his promises. His story in Book 2 has taught me not to be greedy. I’ve learned that you should know how much something costs before you buy it and make sure you have enough money to pay. I am very eager to read the next book in the series.

What Teachers, Parents, and Financial Experts Say
Robin Yang’s book paints vivid pictures with words that are accessible and engaging to young readers. Having practiced psychology for the past thirty years, I see tremendous value in children reading the Enchanted Collar™ series and learning crucial money lessons. This book should benefit their financial future and emotional well-being greatly.
Maggie Baker, Ph.D., child/adult psychologistauthor of Crazy About Money: How Emotions Confuse Our Money Choices and What to Do About It
Robin Yang has written a book for children that is both highly entertaining and very educational. It informs the young reader of the need to budget and keep track of costs, as well as the honor in being honest and loyal. The hero, Eli, is a delightful character full of energy and spunk.
Kurt Karl, Ph.D., chief economista global financial institution
The Enchanted Collar was shared with my fifth grade students, and they loved it! It was suitable for both genders and all reading levels. I was most impressed with the book's teaching of values and economics for this generation of adolescents. My students and I look forward to reading Robin Yang's next book!

The author does a clever job of integrating English Language Arts and Mathematics. In this series of adventure stories, different scenarios encourage critical thinking as the reader reflects on various problems that are presented. The stories are fun and a powerful tool for learning.

I have been using the Enchanted Collar book series in my fifth-grade language art class. Along with my students, I have been reading these books, and I found them to be very, very enjoyable because there is a storyline that is adventuresome, and because there are parts of the story that are attractive to both both boys and girls. Additionally, my students are learning many good values, such as being trustworthy, honest, and hard-working. They are not only inspired to learn math skills and good life skills, but also improving their English writing skills. After they read each Enchanted Collar book, they write a very focused essay with the accompanying worksheets I’ve downloaded from the EnchantedCollar.com web site.

Robin Yang's book is a wonderful way to lead young children toward a successful financial future. Full of interesting and innovative ideas about budgeting, saving, banking, and investing, the Enchanted Collar™ series is a helpful and fun tool for teachers as well as students. Robin Yang should be congratulated for creating such an interesting method to teach kids about money.
Don Elliott, retired superintendentArkansas Public Schools
This book is an absolute gem. It entertains with a brisk tempo and reminds readers of the importance of financial literacy. Eli's journey is a page turner.
Kabir Seghal, investment bankerauthor of Walk in My Shoes and Jazzocracy
I like the way Robin Yang's book weaves important financial precepts into an imaginative story that my children enjoyed reading. This establishes a basis for them to eventually learn the "mechanics" of money management.
Peter Lannigan, investment strategisthomeschooling father of two
Financial literacy, like literacy in general, should be acquired young. As a father as well as an economist, I look forward to my young son being able to read Robin Yang’s imaginative and educational Enchanted Collar™ books.
Benn Steil, Ph.D., Director of International Economicsthe Council on Foreign Relations and coauthor of Money, Markets and Sovereignty, winner of the 2010 Hayek Book Prize
Financial illiteracy is not a well-acknowledged problem in the US. The two perceived barriers to teaching children finance are (and here I channel my 12 year-old daughter) finance is too difficult and finance is way boring. Robin Yang's book series therefore, fills wonderfully, the abject hole in children's financial education. The stories are engaging and a fun read for children – the "finance is way boring" barrier is breached! The stories are designed so the technicalities of finance are easy to understand – the "finance is too difficult" hurdle is overcome! As a former financial professional and a current financial ethicist I applaud Ms. Yang's work. She ensures ethics and compassion are not neglected in her most enjoyable stories that use adventure to teach finance. After all, as we have witnessed, without ethics, finance becomes quite a misadventure.

What a great help this book is to all parents! The author does a fantastic job of telling stories to children and teaching them money management skills at the same time. The Enchanted Collar™ series is so fascinating that my children are eager to read more. The books teach them many good lessons about self-discipline, responsible spending, honesty, and hard work. These are the good values we would like our children to have, and the Enchanted Collar™ series does a marvelous job helping our kids learn these values. My children now have a better idea about banking and credit card use.
Melody Song, CPAmother of two
I loved how well-paced the stories were and how subtly the author was able to present a lesson on spending and saving. My daughters were completely enthralled with the first two books and can’t wait for the rest of the series. My older daughter is more financially mindful and was surprised and frustrated that Eli and Earl didn’t ask how much the meal would cost and budget more carefully. My younger daughter is our spendthrift so we are hoping the lessons will sink in!
